The Spirit of Art international contemporary exhibition tool place at La Galleria Pall Mall on 20 – 26 March 2011.
Initiated and curated by an established artist and curator Zina Bercovici, Spirit of Art is an international group show that presented eighty of the finest works (sixty paintings and twenty sculptures) by forty well known artists from Europe, Asia, North and South America. The countries are: Norway, Israel, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, France, Italy, U.S.A, Cyprus, Netherlands, Bulgaria and Great Britain.
Through their works, each artist shares with his fellow artists and the spectators their personal reflections and interpretations of the spirit and cultural influences of his country and heritage, creating a unique and multi-cultural artistic structure with a feast of colours, shapes, styles and techniques – merging into a vibrant artistic kaleidoscope.
Gathering artists and art works from different and diversified countries, origins and artistic spheres in the cultural centre of London, will provide art lovers with a special journey through a multicultural “corridor”, interacting and communicating with different artists, colors, artifacts and images.
One of interesting themes of this unique concept is the subject of the body, in particular the female form, which is depicted in many of the art works. Though the human body is basically universal, the treatment of the body in various works is explored through the personal perspective of each artist, in a very diverse way, with each work being unique and special.
The artworks showcased in the Spirit of Art exhibition are created in a variety of techniques and materials – from canvas paintings and mixed-media collages to bronze sculptures. The works of these forty well-known artists are in private collections and museums around the world. They have participated in various international art shows in Europe, America and Asia.
The Spirit of Art artists include: Sissel Aulanrd, Eva Avi Iona, Zina Bercovici, Therese Boisclair, Dagmar Calais, Allessia Carrara, Julia Carter, Leila Chalabi, Cosimo Corola, Randy Covey, Inger Dillan Antonsen, Nina Dreyerhenjum, Marit Eide Rosendal, Baruch Elron, Maureen Fain, Kiki Fleming, Karen Frostig, Mina Gampel, Vera Gelert, Kerry Groneng, Susan Kerr, Hilde Klomp, Solomon Leviev, Mais, Idit Makover, Einat Maor, Yeruham Mezan, Hanna Oren Huppert, Bruno Pascal, Nikki Perzuck, Renee Politzer, Liat Polotsky, Barbara Robinsohn, Ruthy Segal, Edy Snir, Wilma Veen, Patrizia Viviana De Filippo, Vladin Vladev, Avril Doctor, Batya Bombigher and Sonja Eisenberg.
One can only admire the richness of the collection. Art lovers and art collectors should not miss this show. The exhibition will be open to the public from March 21st until March 26th 2011.
La Galleria Pall Mall is a major in contemporary art venue in central London. It is located inside the Royal Opera Arcade in St James’s, a step away from Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. The arcade was designed by John Nash completed in 1818. It houses many high quality boutiques specializing in fine art.
